The Edit: 5 Everyday Little Luxuries to Personalize

And the brands selling them.

The Edit: 5 Everyday Little Luxuries to Personalize

The Edit is a weekly round-up of who’s doing personalization right. From brands weaving customization into their story, to the monogram that stopped us mid-scroll, a maker worth watching, and a detail so good we couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Each week, I share what’s caught my eye — new brands treating customization as craft (not an upsell), pieces that prove “made for you” beats “made for everyone,” and the timeless finds that never feel dated. A curated weekly dose of the taste, texture, and detail that makes something feel truly yours.

Some of my favorite brands are the ones doing personalization really well on the stuff you’re constantly using — hardware, leather goods, the everyday pieces, not just the special-occasion ones.

Here’s five everyday “little-luxuries” I love — the stuff you actually touch and use day in and day out — and the brands making them.

1. Matchbox Sleeve — MG&Co. (Matilda Goad)

A matchbox sleeve with a wedding date, a couple’s initials, or a nickname engraved on it — small, useful, and a nice way to personalize something you’d normally overlook. MG&Co. has the best finds for hardware and lighting; these backplates and this hook are in my shopping cart. If you’re looking for some house inspo, Matilda Goad’s home tour with The Sunday Times Style is a treasure trove of small details that make a big impact.

2. Soho Weekly Diary in Panama — Smythson

There’s something about a monogrammed planner that makes the year ahead feel like it’s going to be great — and very organized. Smythson’s signature diary with the year and initials hand-stamped on the cover is personalization at its most classic.

Fun fact: the Panama diary (Panama cross grain leather pictured below) is Smythson's original claim to fame. Frank Smythson launched it in 1908 as the first diary actually designed to be portable, at a time when most calendars were bulky and desk-bound. Smythson's archivist has described it as "the iPad of its time."

3. Adam’s Card Case — Clare V. (@clarev)

I use a card case almost every day instead of a full wallet, and this one’s the most fun — color-blocked leather with a hand-painted monogram, unmistakably Clare V. Dozens of color combos to choose from and a clean, modern monogram style. I have this Midi Sac and the one in Black Croc and use them on rotation constantly. The best little bag to put in your big bag…with a card case!

4. Big Daddy Tote — Corroon (@corroon)

The everyday tote to fit absolutely everything you need — the signature Corroon stripe and monogram combo are the duo that belong on a fabulous leather bag and never go out of style. They teamed up with Dallas-based company, The Mahjong Line — these personalized Mahjong mats would make the best Christmas gift for your friend on that weekly Mahjong circuit!

5. Engraved Oval Signet Ring — Baby Gold

A signet ring is a classic — one you can wear every day and never take off. Baby Gold has dozens of personalized options to choose from, from oval signets to the Carrie Bradshaw–style nameplate necklace. Everything is real 14k solid gold (not vermeil or plated). The brand is also family-owned and manufactures everything in-house in LA, selling direct-to-consumer instead of going through the usual wholesale and retail markups — part of how they keep it more accessible than traditional fine jewelry.
