The Edit is a weekly round-up of who’s doing personalization right. From brands weaving customization into their story, to the monogram that stopped us mid-scroll, a maker worth watching, and a detail so good we couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Each week, I share what’s caught my eye — new brands treating customization as craft (not an upsell), pieces that prove “made for you” beats “made for everyone,” and the timeless finds that never feel dated. A curated weekly dose of the taste, texture, and detail that makes something feel truly yours.
The staples doing all the heavy lifting and never letting you down. The sweater you grab without thinking. The button-down that works for a Monday meeting AND a Saturday dinner. The jeans that just fit — no negotiating, no "let me try these on real quick" moment.
This week’s Edit is five of those pieces. Well-made, well-designed, the kind of thing you buy once and keep wearing for years. And if you want to add a monogram or initials to any of them, these brands make it happen.
Soft, oversized, that perfect heather gray that goes with everything. This is the sweater you throw over your shoulders when you don’t want to think about getting dressed but still want to look like you tried. Solid, striped, red, blue, green, yellow — you name it, there’s a Marin in it. It’s the wardrobe staple you’ll want in all your most-worn colors.
La Ligne launched the Perfect 10 Capsule earlier this year — wardrobe essentials, effortlessly chic, endlessly wearable. I have this sweater from the collection, and I can say from experience: it’s the kind you throw over a maxi dress or your pajamas and feel equally cozy and luxurious either way. My 6-year-old gives me koala hugs whenever I wear it and calls it the “coziest ever.” He’s not wrong!

The slightly-oversized button-down that never goes out of style, no matter how many times people say it’s “back.” Works with jeans, trousers, over a swimsuit, track pants — the list goes on. It’s a workhorse.
The Shirt by Rochelle Behrens makes the best button-downs, hands down. I own the Boyfriend, the Icon, the Puff Sleeve, and a few seasonal styles — all amazing. The slight stretch makes the fit so much more wearable, none of the stiffness you get with a typical button-down. And their patented button technology eliminates the gape, so the fit lays perfectly from every angle.

Structured enough to look put-together, roomy enough to fit your laptop and everything else you're hauling around. This is the "grab it and go" bag — the one that works whether you're heading to a meeting or the airport. I have the mini version in Camel and love it - I used mine in our shoot for High Stitch- the quality and price can’t be beat.

Striped poplin, red piping, exactly the kind of nightgown that makes lounging around on a Sunday feel a little more intentional. Not every staple has to leave the house. Their poplin collection and robes all offer an embroidery option — this is the kind of Christmas matching I'd opt-in for year-round.

The original. The blueprint. There's not much left to say about 501s that hasn't already been said a thousand times — they just work, and they've earned it. While Levi's doesn't offer custom embroidery on their site, they do offer customization of all sorts — patches, embroidery, even a little sparkle — at select Tailor Shops worldwide. Chances are if there's a Levi's flagship store near you, they offer monogramming too. If you're a fan of a wider-leg fit, these have become part of my weekly uniform — better in person than they look online (IMO 🫣) — the perfect high-rise, '70s feel, with just the right amount of wide-leg and flare.
