Here’s how that timeline usually goes
So say you’re a brand and you want to add a monogram or personalization program. If you’ve ever tried to actually stand one up, you already know how this goes.
Somebody has to map out the whole workflow. How do orders even get routed once they come in? How do art files get approved — and by who? How does production get tracked so nothing falls through the cracks? And before any of that, how does a customer even request a monogram without breaking the checkout you already have?
Then, once you’ve figured all that out, somebody has to go build it. Custom. From scratch. For your store specifically (and if you already work with developers, these are a lot of expensive billable hours).
That’s usually a months-long project. Sometimes it creeps closer to a year. And that’s all before a single custom order has been placed.
I know this timeline so well — from running a small business on Shopify to working with larger brands. A lot of us here have lived some version of it: time on the production floor, in product development, curating collections with custom options, working through approvals on both the financial and creative sides. So many brands keep running into this same wall.

Why I think this actually matters
For a lot of fashion and lifestyle brands, personalization isn’t really a “nice to have” anymore — it’s starting to feel more like table stakes if you want the loyalty and the margin that comes with it. But most brands don’t have a spare engineering team lying around to build a custom monogram pipeline. They’ve got a product to sell and a season to hit. Meanwhile, legacy apps for customization fall short of what brands actually need, and they never feel native to the brand. High Stitch is different — it's white-label through and through.
